We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with Xbox Game Bar. As per description, you cannot join partys and talk using the Xbox game bar.

There are several methods you can try to fix it. Here are some of them:

• Toggle the button next to “Open Xbox Game Bar” to “On” in the Gaming tab of Windows Settings and reboot the system.
  
• Repair or reset Xbox Game Bar by going to Settings > Apps and Features > Xbox Game Bar > Advanced Options.
  
• Reset the Xbox app via Settings > Apps > Xbox > Advanced Settings > Reset.
  
• Reset the hotkeys in the Xbox app’s Game DVR settings if they have been reconfigured.
  

If none of these methods work, you can try restarting your computer or doing a clean boot.

To fix the Xbox Game Bar party chat not working issue, you can try the following solutions.

Unplug and plug in your headset

Perform a reboot

Repair Xbox Game Bar app

Set automatic time zone in Windows

Check your device settings in the game bar

Keep your headset as the default input and output device

Please, make sure your Windows is updated:

Then, reset and repair your game bar again:

Press the Windows Key+X > Settings > System > System Components > Search for Game Bar > click the three dots ... > Advanced > Restore

Then, on the same page, press Repair.

After that, please, download the Gaming Services Repair tool:

https://aka.ms/GamingRepairTool

Once downloaded, execute the file by right-clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator.

Follow the prompts and check if the issue was resolved.

yah I tell my friends to get discord lol they never do it

gamebar is not the best for chat unfortunatley, i would make sure your mic is turned down slightly or it will distort.

I have since switch to discord and my mates on xbox use discord on the phone.
