Based on the description, you are having issue with keyboard and controller connected in your Xbox console. Let us check on this and see on what we can do to help.

We would like to ask few questions to help us understand the issue better.

1. Is this happening to all the games or just specific games?

2. Have you tried using different keyboard to isolate if this is not an issue with the keyboard?

3. Is your Xbox controller not working when connected to your Xbox?

For the meantime try to reset and update your Xbox console firmware. See the links below:

• How to reset your Xbox console to factory defaults
  

To make sure your console updated, follow these steps:

• Make sure that your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  
• Select Profile & system> Settings > System > Updates.
  
• Under Updates, you’ll see:
  
  • Console update available. Select this to begin your update, or
    
  • No console update available. This means your console is up to date.

I start up fortnite then plug in my keyboard and mouse and only my keyboard works how do i fix this ?

What model of keyboard and mouse are you using?. There is of course a work in progress for both, I highly suggest using a wired Keyboard and mouse only at this current moment on fortnite.

Both are wired but mouse wont work on any game is my mouse broke???

I understand you need help with your Xbox problem.

Have you tried resetting the console to clear cache?

If not, please try this:

Let's refresh the console's system cache.

NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select System.

4. Select Console info

5. Select Reset console.

6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

This will also help sync the data on your console properly.
