How do I fix Controller drift?

I have had this problem with every single controller ive had. The only answers i can find on the internet are "buy a new one" or "open it up" but i bought a new controller less then four months ago and heard that if I open it up it voids the warranty. What do I do?

Have you run the steps in Update xbox wireless controller? All controllers you use need to run the firmware update.

I prefer the usb method.

I have drift on the right stick, but my gimbal is worn, the rubber is gone and it's high mileage indeed.

For each controller you owned, was it a different stick or direction of drift? Have you considered having the gimbal replaced on one of your old controllers?

It was on the right stick for all but the first two controllers.

It is called stick drift how to fix it i do not know sometimes you need to get a new controller

It only does this on the one controller I have an old regular white one but it has too much joystick drift for it to be usable. How do I fix the loose 3.5mm jack
