How do I enter console configuration?

May I know exactly where are you trying to login your account? What happened when you send a code, did you receive it or not?

I think Thing is describing resetting the console to factory settings. It's worth a shot, to see if there are any configurations in your Xbox 360 network settings currently causing you to have to manually re-enter this information every time. To do so, go
to the settings hub > system > network settings > wired/wireless connection > configure network > additional settings > restore to factory defaults. Let us know how it goes!

I try all sorts of solutions but I am getting stuck at the Select Configure Network option: there are a lot of things to try but I cannot configure the network but I cannot "see" the router to configure; its driving me mad

To set your Xbox 360 console’s IP settings

On your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select WiredNetwork or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.

WHEN I GET HERE I CANNOT MOVE FORWARD

Select Configure Network.

On the Basic Settings tab, select IP Settings.

Select Manual.

Select IP Address.

Enter the unique IP address that you made up, and then select Done.

Select Subnet Mask, enter your computer’s subnet mask, and then select Done.

Select Gateway, enter your computer’s default gateway, and then select Done.

Select Done.

Press B on your controller and then test your connection again.
