How do I download without disk

I own nfs hot pursuit and really want to play. But the disk is scratched. When I put it in I can play a little but then I crashes. Sp I tried to download it only to realize it downloads the disk and not the game. Is there a way to download it without it
downloading of the disk ( I don't care about losing progress on other accounts)

It never mentions an online pass, you would think it would let you play the single player campaign on the disk without asking you to pay extra or download more content, but how do I go about getting one?

Downloaded games won't play without disk...why?

I have saved several games from purchased disk to hard drive, plus downloaded from live to console, but they say that I cannot play them without having the disk inserted. Why do I have to insert the disk if it is downloaded to the hard drive? How do I play
a game downloaded to the hard drive without using the disk?

You would have to purchase the game digitally in order to download it without the disc.

Only way to go is to purchase a new copy of the disc or buy it digitally.
