How do I download game patch updates?

I think what they are saying is the game won't run without a patch, but the Xbox Game Pass for PC version is not updating. There is no update option, and after running MS Store download update, there is nothing there about a patch.

I too am wondering how to download and install patches for games...i have the digital versions of NBA 2k14 and BF4, both of which have had patches released. How do I download and install these patches? Or how do i confirm whether or not the patches have
been automatically downloaded and installed? My xbox one has Instant-On mode enabled.

In general, the console will recognize that there is an update (subject to non-peak times and required patch vs. game updates/patches) but not download and install.

Each game is different depending upon how it loads up, saves, resumes play, if you're playing online vs. locally.

BUT I believe your actual question is this, will the update download and apply?

-Each game is different, so lets use Diablo 3 as an example.

-There was a patch weeks ago, so when I turned the system back on from "instant -on" the game itself asked me if I wanted to download the update, and this caused the game to save. Prompt that there is an update---> Ask if you want to start the update--->Stop
playing-->download update in queue-->install complete-->relaunch game.

You can download patch with the disk, BUT the downloaded games with gold version will NOT detect the update. I even deleted the patch, and re download it, and it still wont detect the patch.

Yes I have downloaded the game too and right now it only says 45g I have tried everything to get the update to start. How will I know if has download the patch or not? How can I make it start?
