    If you get an error regarding DHCP, then the console couldn't get an IP address from your home router or your Internet Service Provider.

    Depending on your setup, you either have to restart your Modem, when you connect the console to it (in case you "only" have a cable modem from your provider that can only connect one device at the same time)

    or

    If you have a (wireless) router at home, make sure it has it's DHCP server enabled, that the connection is working properly (i.e. the network cable isn't faulty, or the WLAN connection is good, and you have entered the correct WLAN-password), and that your
    router still has a free IP address in it's DHCP pool. Most problems in that category can also be resolved by restarting your router as well.

    If these initial troubleshooting steps didn't work, please provide more information about your setup:

    What is the make and model of your (WLAN-)router and/or your broadband modem?

    How is the console connected? Wired or wireless?

    Are you able to sign into your router and check for it's DHCP settings?

    Westell 7500 can't obtain IP address

    Centurylink is my ISP also, and let me tell you its a joke.

    Now on to fixing your problem. Do you have your westell 7500 in bridged mode? meaning you have 1 wire running up to another wireless router and that is controlling your internet.

    If not the dhcp server must be turned off inside the modem/ router.

    Turn on DHCP

    1.network connection

    2.Lan

    3.private lan the first one.

    check the first option under DHCP.



    If your not sure how to do the above steps then call centurylink, they are usually pretty good about configuring their own equipment. Just tell them you are not getting any ip address from the Westell 7500 modem router.

    you might have to configure your DHCP to hand out IPv6 addresses, or set your Xbox One with a static IPv6 address. If you have some questions about that, let us know.
    Please tell me the best way to do this. I have my IPv6 address, but how can I input that into the xbox one?
