2. Go to Settings, select Account and then select
   Account Security.
3. Select Password at Sign In.
4. Select On All Other Consoles.

It is not disabled Xbox live is currently having some issues.

Service status

You will have to wait for Microsoft to resolve the issues to change them. Ringing support wont help since they will not reset account passwords so there is nothing you can really do until Microsoft has fixed it Xbox Live issues.

Kathy on the first thread had mentioned an alternative option.

If you have auto renewal enabled you'll have to call customer support. That's the only way to get that disabled I believe. If you don't have auto renewal set up you can go to "My Xbox" at the top, then "Accounts". Next click on "Manage Payment Options" and
the option to remove your Credit / Debit will be right there.

But I agree that it's stupid how they have it setup. You should be able to disable auto renewal straight from the website just like how you can enable it on the website.

Easiest thing to do is change the password for your account on the website, this will disable it on the Xbox. Only way to remove the account is on the Xbox itself.
