How do I delete an xbox account

MS forced me to sign up for xbox to get an answer to a Jigsaw problem. I did but the problem still exists, puzzles won't download. Bottom line, I don't want an xbox account but I do need my MS account. How do I delete the xbox account without deleting
my MS account?

How do i delete accounts?

Hi fellow Xbox user,

Deleting old accounts can only be done by closing the email address that was used to open them with. If a Hotmail/Outlook account was used to create these, you need to open the 'Account Details' and then on the 'Overview'
page if you scroll to the bottom of the page the last option is 'Close Account'. Completing this deletes all the data associated with that email. If you used something other than Hotmail/Outlook then you will need to check out the options in your preferred
email account.

How do i delete accounts?

I made a few accounts awhile ago but havent used them for years and would like to delete them. I dont see any delete account option when im on the 360 or here. So yeah how do i delete an account?

Xbox accounts cannot be deleted.

As bowski477 mentioned, it's not possible to remove the Xbox account, but it is used for Microsoft Jigsaw and other games. It's how your achievements and other stats are tracked and how you're viewed on leaderboards. It's free as well.

There is no way to completely delete an account from the servers. The only way to get the name would be to pay to change it.
