    it is blocking the ability to play online and add friends. I have try restore but it still won't delete.

    Hey there mrxboxliveparty,

    If you open up Settings then go to Account and then Remove accounts, you'll be able to remove any unwanted Gamertags from the console. Give that a shot and see if that takes care of the problem for you. How do I delete a gamer tag from a preowned Xbox :)

    Hey there mrxboxliveparty,

    I realized that this is not a question so I will pose one now. How do I delete my gamer tag permanently, not from the console but entirely from every MS system so that I can associate my REAL gamer tag with my REAL WLID?

    Also, i cant delete the gamer tag that is on THIS email adress if that makes a difference. Ideally id just delete this xbox live gamer tag and then change the email from my real account to this email. but I also cant find a way to delete a gamer tag/xbox

    your gamer profile does not have the correct permission to access xbox live functionality

    If you are experiencing this error, please check to make sure that the gamer tag you are trying to use has XBOX Live Gold. You need a paid Gold Subscription in order to play online with others. If you do indeed have a current subscription and it's GOLD then
    please delete the gamer tag from your console and download it again, this should fix the problem. You can follow the instructions on how to delete and re-download the gamer tag
