How do I connect to public wifi, using MAC address?

Is your only option to connect via WiFi and with Mac spoofing? If so you better try to use your pc or laptop as access point for your Xbox as WiFi with spoofed Mac is not working.

Some questions:

1. Are you using an alternative MAC address?

2. Are you connected over wifi?

If yes, try removing alternative MAC first. There is a bug with the Feb update that breaks using an alternative MAC over wifi when connecting to games but leaves everything else intact. I was attempting to connect x1 over wifi at a hotel and ran into this
problem. I corrected by removing the alternative MAC address.

I have an a Asus RT-AC68U with dd-wrt, so I know it's an option if the info was available regarding which ip addresses and other connection info were available to the public. And if I could connect the ethernet and WiFi at the same time it would help because
then I could assign ports to different Mac addresses and prioritize or cap speeds according to those macs.

Yes, when your phone (any device actually) connects to the hotel wifi, it identifies that device by the MAC address and assigns an IP address, so when you connect your phone to the WiFi and is granted internet access, you change the MAC address of your Xbox
to your phones MAC address and disconnect your phone from the WiFi, and then the hotel WiFi can't tell the difference between your phone and the Xbox, all it knows is that this MAC address gets this IP address and is granted access to the internet.

But make sure that you disables your phone WiFi, or it will cause a conflict having the same MAC address showing up on the network. Also, you will most likely have to do these steps every time you connect because after a short period of time of not being
connected, the system will forget the MAC address and IP assignment and will make you sign in again.

Mac spoofing DOES work (where i am).

If connecting to wireless, connect to wifi on computer, accept terms or input password. Then follow steps suggested by jeemac to find Mac address. Once found, input Mac address as suggested. No spaces, no dashes, no colon, and letters are lowercase. Disconnect
computer. Test wifi on xbox.

P.s. I used my Android phone to do it. I don't know if a computer will be differemenunt. To find Mac address on Android go to -menu-settings-about phone-status. Mac address will be there.
