How do I connect my Xbox 360E to my surround sound using an SPDIF cable?

Turtle Beach makes a fairly cheap adapter that connects inline with the HDMI and extracts the audio and provides and optical out.

A lot of TV's do have optical out so I would double check to see if yours has one. Some only pass through a Dolby Pro Logic or similar mix while some pass along all the audio untouched.

Depends on your surround sound system. We need more information on your system. For surround sound, chances are through a Digital Audio (SPDIF) cable if you surround sound system has an input for it.

There is also a way to use the spdif to surround sound speakers using a device that converts it to phono/Jack that allows you to connect spdif from console to that device and then from device to surround systems that use either phono's or jack. It's roughly
30 dollars on amazon. Let me get my forum post about this same subject.

i dont want to do this as i want this because my headset i use is also my speakers i just use the headset set adapter so i can talk using my headset. i get an echo from all game sound when i use adapter to talk with. (the surround sound analog cables feed
into a digital audio decoder) and i have a spdif cable from there that goes into my xbox. i use the stereo cable and mic cable with a splitter to plug into the adapter so i can talk and hear voice as i wont hear it if i dont use the stereo cable in there

O think no the reason why their are no official surround sound headsets is because the spdif currently doesn't support surround sound, only stereo. Be a bit of a waste (and a possible legal nightmare) to release surround sound headsets, if the Xbox One
can currently in not do stereo.
