How do I check if my mic is working in BF4?

[/quote]...if you bought a TB premium headset by a specific date, you qualify for the adapter free .....I bought an Astro A50 ....returned in 3 days later, and traded it for a TB XP510 ...then I jumped through their hoops and set up for the upgrade come
Feb-Mar' ish ....ofcourse, I looked at the prototype of the adapter in photos, and I'll bet it's only gonna be $25 or less

 

My TB is into the TV audio thingy and into the Xbone USB. I was hoping wearing the TB, then plugging the Xbone "basic" headset into the controller (then just hang it around neck) would work but I havent tried it. But it may do as POC said.

 

the problem is if you plug in the included headset to your controller, it''s going automatically relegate all chat to that channel, sending and receiving ...when you don't have a mic plugged in, it relegates chat receiving to the same audio channel as game
sound, i.e. you hear chat on your TV, speakers, or headset but the kinnect is the mic...but a as you plug something into the cotroller, then both sending and receiving chat is relegated there, so you no longer hear chat on your TV, speakers or premium headset

 

Unless.....I seem to recall there's an option to set the chat voice to regular speakers as opposed to the chat speaker. I'm not sure but it seems like I remember seeing that somewhere on the 360's menu some time ago.

^^Does it not work? I think the "MLG" guys do some type of combo like this. They wear the good headset for hearing, but they use a different thing (cheap headset) around their neck for communicating, but I dont know how they have stuff hooked up.

 

Just set voice chat to play through the speakers, lower the master volume on games and switch the kinect VOIP on.

Are you saying you can use the kinect to talk to your squad mates that are not in an xbox live party with you?

 

If you're playing BF4 with a squad where none of the squad members are in party chat and all have mics on, yes, you can talk to all the members in your squad in the game using the Kinect mic.

 

Will it work for parties too, if I get in a party? I guessing it should.

 

It works like a reg mic yes, but it will pick up all sounds in uts area so bong hits are a must, i wave my junk at it every once in awile so anyone spying knows what i think of em

 

Regular stereo headphone will work if you have a headphone jack party snd game will come thru just use kinect fir the mic, you wont have seperat vol controls but its not too bad
