How do I change the Xbox settings to block adding new accounts

From the Guide goto >System>Settings>Account>Family settings and check the signed out option about adding new accounts.

This support for adding family members on xbox one may also assist you.

I too removed my son's account and then added it back. Did NOT solve the issue.

How did yo do this specifically? I.e. you removed the account, added it back and then changed the settings?

I have been getting the error message of "you cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft account it set up". I have an adult account that is not restricted in online play, I've tried for hours to change the settings, such as blocking
it and then unlocking it, but the settings never update. I am unsure of what to do at this point and contemplating making a new account because of this issue

Hello my name is Hayden I understand you are having truble with your settings. Maybe this will help, after you change your your account settings restart your Xbox

Do not remove Xbox Live, as that is the only way to block the advertisements (but ONLY on the Xbox Live accounts). I was able to block mature ads my account, but not on my kids because they don't have Xbox Live.

If your kids have Xbox Live you can change the advertisements to 'Family' in the Privacy menu.

Check any settings just to make sure there is no Option to block media been sent.

Then try doing a hard re set of the xbox.

you could also try removing the account from the xbox and then re adding the account.
