How do I change the EA ID associated with my gamertag?

If your console IDs are connected to different EA Accounts or to an incorrect account, it is possible to have an EA Advisor transfer certain items for you. However, doing so can result in permanently losing data from your EA Account, console account, or
both. You can find more details on the risks of persona transfers
here.

• If you have multiple EA Accounts with console IDs connected to them and you want the console IDs to be on the same EA Account, an
  EA Advisorcan move the console account for you. You will need to verify ownership on all accounts involved.
  • Please note: moving a console ID will cause you to lose your game status and progress, items purchased and/or earned in your games, content that you have associated with one or both accounts, and access to certain online services for games.
    Your EA Advisor can tell you what you will lose based on your account information.
    
• If you have multiple EA Accounts with games or content on them but your console IDs are connected to just one of them,
  contact an EA Advisor. They can transfer your games and other content to the EA Account that is connected to your console IDs.
  • Please note: Doing this may result in the loss of progress, saved data or stats from your games. This includes any content you have saved to the Origin Cloud, any multiplayer progression, and potentially offline save game progression.
    

Thanks - I've looked at that article but it only tells me how to change the Windows Live ID associated with the gamertag. This would mean my Windows Live ID is associated with my son's gamertag instead of his own Windows Live ID.

What I really need to do is transfer the Windows Live subscription over to my Windows Live ID / XBOX gamertag.

Can someone tell me how to do this please?

So if I download a profile to my Xbox, do I have to wait 30 days after I download to change the windows live ID associated with that gamertag? Because I have never changed the windows live id's associated with any of the gamertags.

Change the WLID associated with my gamertag.

If for any reason you want to change the WLID you have associated with your account, all you need to do is follow these simple steps.

On the console, go to My Xbox, and select your avatar.

In Account Management, select “Manage Account”.

In Your Information, select “Windows Live ID”.

Select “Change Windows Live ID”.

If you have another Windows Live ID, select “Yes”.

If you do not have another Windows Live ID, on a computer, go to Welcome to Windows Live ID, and click “Sign up”.

Enter the password for the Windows Live ID that is currently associated with your gamertag, and then select “Sign in”.

Enter the email address and the password for the new Windows Live ID that you want to associate with your gamertag, and then select “Sign in”.

Select “Yes, change” to change the Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox LIVE account.

Select “Update Contact Information” to update your contact information, or select “Done” to finish.

Switch your gamertag to a different Windows LIVE ID
You can change the Windows LIVE ID associated with your gamertag. Here’s how:

1. Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
2. Go to Settings and then select Account.
3. Go to Your Information and then select Windows Live ID.
4. Select Change Windows Live ID.
5. Enter the password for the Windows Live ID that is currently associated with your gamertag and then select
   Sign in.
6. Enter the email address and the password for the new Windows Live ID that you want to associate with your gamertag and then select
   Sign in.
7. Select Yes, change to change the Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox LIVE account.
   
8. Select Update Contact Information to update your contact information or
   Done to finish.
