MTU error for Network mode "Mixed(N for xbox)

I have a wireless N adapter for my xbox 360 and a wireless N router (Linksys WRT160N). whenever i am on mixed network mode for my router (N for the xbox) i get a MTU error when i run the network test and i cant play black ops (get no server available error),
but when i use "network mode: G Only" i get no errors and can play my games normally. Why does it do this? and is their a way to fix my N mode because i would like to take an advantage of my N adapter and N router.

How do i change my router to N-only for my xbox 360 wireless N adapter

    Hi Forrceful,

Your router should automatically support N (Referred to as 802.11n), which has become the standard for wireless networking. I found this information form this

    Netgear article

There is no option to remove support for B or G, (B is no longer manufactured apparently).

The letters refer to frequencies and speed, and each new version of hardware capabilities.

Having another letter available should not affect the network, and should be running properly without configuration if your having connectivity problems.

If you are having connectivity problems, then the letter is not the issue, but we will try to solve it

Xbox 360 Disconnects Every 5-10 minutes.

Try playing with wireless mode in your router settings (wireless G only, wireless N only, wireless N/G mixed). With my router that has custom firmware running on it, if I choose N-only, my Xbox 360 disconnects as frequent as you stated.

Using the built in wireless or dongle on the 4gb Xbox 360 slim?

    Hello,

Xbox 360 S console: The Xbox 360 S console’s built-in Wi-Fi uses the 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) frequency band. If your router is broadcasting using another frequency, your Xbox 360 S console cannot connect to your wireless network. Check your router
documentation to find out how to set your router to broadcast at 2.4 GHz. If you want to connect using the 5 GHz frequency band, you will need to add the black Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter to your Xbox 360 S console.

Xbox 360 S console and black adapter: The Xbox 360 S console and the black Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter cannot use the 802.11n wireless protocol in combination with WEP or WPA TKIP encryption. If your router requires WEP or WPA encryption,
your console will try to connect to your wireless network using a slower wireless protocol such as 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11a.

Use WPA2 if possible: The best wireless encryption to use with your Xbox 360 console is WPA2 with AES encryption.

Wireless N router and a gray adapter: If you have an 802.11n or N type router and a gray Xbox 360 Wireless G Networking Adapter, configure your N type router to use a mixed mode; broadcast using a combination of wireless standard N and either B, G, or
    A.
Internal WiFi is wireless N, the only advantage to having the black network adapter is to connect using a 5GHZ frequency.

    Hello,

The XBOX 360 S internal WiFi adapter only works with 2.4ghz frequency. If you want to run the 5ghz frequency you will need to buy a black adapter.
