How do I change my phone number on my Microsoft account?

So I went on my Xbox and it logged me out for some reason so I tried logging in but my account was linked to my old phone number and not my new one. Now no matter what I try it always says I don't provide enough information when I do the questionnaire thing with the different email and litterly nothing that the Microsoft support bots give me helps what so ever and i just need to get on the phone with a representative and get my phone number changed on the account.

To change the phone number associated with your Microsoft account, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft Account website (https://account.microsoft.com/) and sign in with your current credentials.
2. Click on the "Security" tab at the top of the page.
3. Under the "Security basics" section, click on "Update info" next to the phone number.
4. Enter your new phone number and select whether you want to receive the security code via text or call.
5. Enter the security code you receive and click "Next".
6. You will see a message confirming that your phone number has been updated.

That's it! Your phone number associated with your Microsoft account is now updated.

When i’m clicking on security it’s asking me to verify through my old not accessible number, any help?

Hi Cosmic Craze,

I'm using MS 365 and there is no "update Info" next to Phone Number, nor does it show a phone number.

At the security tab, I went into Advanced security options, which then gives me a code to enter into my MS Authenticator app. I have no idea where to enter this code.

Any other suggestions?
