How do i change my email address to the one im using on my phone

First -- make sure that the email you want to use doesn't have any gamertag associated with it. (You can verify that with support).

If cleared, then you may update the email by signing-in to account.live.com > Your info> Manage how to sign-in to Microsoft > Add email . ( Add the email you want to use and make it as a Primary alias. You can remove your old email if you don't want to
use it.)

Please note: If your current email is a Microsoft account (it has a domain outlook.com , Hotmail.com , live.com ) and change it to an email with a third party domain ( yahoo.com , aol.com , etc). , your Microsoft account email will cease to exist and will
be deleted. Thus, you can no longer access the inbox or email anymore. You need to sign-in your xbox using the new email moving forward.

However, to link my old email address to my hotmail account is not possible as i can only link other hotmail email addresses to my hotmail account.

I tried to recover my old email address and was informed by the email address provider that it was not only deactivated but also terminated and not recoverable as i havent used it in 10+ years.

Is there any other way to help change my old xbox live email address? Perhaps microsoft could change it manually? Given that i can verify that it is my account via Identification card, phone number or facebook as i use the same email address there as i do on my xboxlive account.
