Could you double check if maybe your ex partner account is part from your family group?

The only way to use the games on the new console would be to "find" access again to your old account and transfer the licenses to the new console. After which you would be able to play the games on your new tag from your new console. But if you have no way
of getting your old account back, There's not a lot you can do besides buying the content again on your new account.

If you can give some information about your lost account, As in why/how you lost it. Whether just an email issue or a ban, There may be a way for you to gain access to it again in order to do this. But if it is a friends/ex partners/ or family members account
i wouldn't suggest trying to get onto it.

Apart from that, it is possible to change the emails associated with accounts, and other measures which may help If we know what the issue is. Good luck with your gaming!

Unfortunately if it's your ex partners email address, there isn't a lot that can be done. A child account should have been set up, using an email generated for the child.

unfortunately, unless your ex-partner can and is willing change the email address on the account (only possible if it isn't a microsoft email address) then that account is gone.

as you will have to start a new account for your son I recommend that you give him his own email address and set up the account as a child account then create an adult account for yourself (unless you already have one) then create a family group and add
your son to it.

this will make life easier in the future as you will be able to set up privacy and online safety for him as well as controlling what types of games he plays and for how long.

it will also mean that when he's older his Xbox account will be on his email account and not yours

Before we proceed... What suffix does your parents email end with? ex: XXXXXX@Outlook.com . Let us know!

Do not change the email if your parents email is a Hotmail or Outlook email. If you do they will lose it and not have access to it.

If your parents email is anything other than a Microsoft email (ex: yahoo, Gmail) you can change it.
