How do I buy Xbox Gold Games with a shared Gold account?

My brother has allowed me to share his Gold Ultimate account on our Xbox One but to download any of the monthly free Gold games I have to sign into his account to get them.

I don't think he wants them as his owned games so is it possible to purchase the gold games from my account instead of his but still using his gold access?

I hope that makes sense.

You would have to purchase gold on your account in order to purchase them directly from your account. Only the account that purchased the subscription can access perks like Games with Gold or Gold discounts.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have question on getting the free games. Unfortunately, the one with the Xbox live gold subscription needs to obtain them first. Once done, then you can install them from the ready to install. Reason it wont
let your account is you do not have the gold subscription. Once the account gets them, then they act as owned games and are sharable.

Firstly if you you have 1 person on your console that has a gold account no one else needs a gold account, to have gold access.

Heres a link to how to setup game sharing:

However buys the game owns the game, if you and your brother fall out, the GT which bought the games will effectively own the games, so the other will be without.

What I mean is, put the gold on your son's account instead of yours, not buying a 2nd gold subscription on his account.

As far as your questions about buying 2 games/DLC, it would work the same as gold sharing does. You can only share on the Home console.
