    How do I buy a gamertag with a redeemed gift card?

    You can add the currency gift card to your account then go to choose a new gamertag. Then when you get to the payment screen choose your MS account balance.

    If you have a brand new account with an autogenerated GT you should have a free GT change available.

    You have to redeem the code first at
    redeem.microsoft.com     and then you will have currency on your account to pay for the tag change.

    I have redeemed it. The issue is that I can only pay with credit, it doesn’t give me any options there I can pay with the gift card.

    Hi! If you haven't found the solution I may have one! I've had the same problem however there is a fix. One thing you need to make sure is that when you are trying to buy the new gamer tag, you are looking on the correct website. You need to make sure that
    you are buying it on the same website that you have the MS account for. (ie if you have the money on a Canadian MS account you need to use the Canadian website to buy the gamer tag) I had the problem where my money wouldn't show up when I was looking on the US
    Store     for a gamertag but when I changed to the Canadian Store I could see my MS account money and buy a gamer tag. If you do not live in Canada or
    US replace the part of the url next to the /en- where it says CA with the abbreviation of your country and you should be able to see your MS account money and buy a gamertag (ie replace the bold part with the abbreviation of your country) https://account.xbox.com/en-CA/ChangeGamertag?wa=wsignin1.0

    Are you referring to a gift card? If a currency card is different, how would I go about doing that? I cannot use the $40 gift card I redeemed to buy more gift cards.
