  1. How do I back up achievement art, screenshots, and video clips to USB thumb drive?

I spoke with support about backing these things up yesterday, and they said the only way is by USB. Now that I purchased the thumb drive, how do I place my achievement art, screenshots, and video recordings on it? I'm using an Xbox One S. I'm unfamiliar
with the layout, and trying to navigate through it.

Also, I noticed that Game DVR seems to use the terms "share" and "upload" interchangeably. I have the upload settings disabled, because it seems that every time it mentions "upload," it means it's going to share everything. I don't want anything shared unless
I actually send it in a message directly to someone. If there is some form of uploading that doesn't also share my content, please let me know.

    :)

    Problems Using Upload Studio

This happens with all my clips and I am in the Xbox Insider Program and using the new dashboard. What I do in Upload Studio is I start up a video and when I try to upload my clips none of them work and if they do I can't actually publish them. Sometimes
my list of clips and screenshots won't even load.

    Screenshot and video clips

    Hey there!

If you feel as if there should be a different way of taking screenshots and recording game clips you can visit the
Xbox Feedback site and you can submit your idea there.

I also want to mention, you can purchase an
    Xbox One Kinect
and you can give voice commands such as "Xbox, record that!"

    Best Regards,

  4. How do I back up achievement art, screenshots, and video clips to USB thumb drive?

So, another support person has informed me that pretty much everything I do is automatically backed up to the cloud, not just game saves. This includes any unlocked achievement art, screenshots, and recorded video clips. So, if something were to happen to
my console, the aforementioned content will be safe, and once I sign in again, it will all be restored. I'm wondering if anyone confirm this? Since I've been provided contrasting information, it'd be nice if someone could provide a definitive answer, preferably
from experience. Note that, as I mentioned in the OP, every setting I've come across so far about sharing is set so nothing is shared without me doing so manually. Just wanted to reiterate that in case it affects anything related to a backup.

Also, forgive me for replying to the thread instead of editing. It's telling me "editing is disabled for this post." It took me a while just to find my thread (these forums are much different than any other forum I'm accustomed to).

  5. Hey there IHaveAQuestion,

I'm happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability. How do I back up achievement art, screenshots, and video clips to USB thumb drive? :)

In terms of pulling content off of the console from either a Screenshot, Game DVR Clip and Achievement Art. There is no way to insert a USB drive into the console and "Backup the content". You can however upload the Screenshots and Game DVR clips to OneDrive.
From OneDrive, you'll be able to take that content and move it around to different devices such as a USB thumb drive. It sounds like the agent may have been confused on what you wanted to do exactly.

To clarify between Share and Upload. Upload will allow you to Upload the content to OneDrive where you can retrieve the content on a PC to use. You can do the same thing with Screenshots. Share is the option that will allow you to share the content directly
from the console to different locations like Twitter, Activity Feed and directly to another Xbox Live gamer. In the YouTube app, you'll also have the ability to upload a clip directly to a YouTube account, should you so choose. In your case you'll want to
use the Upload function and to OneDrive, this is the option that will upload and not share the content over Xbox Live for others to see.

As far as everything stored in the cloud. Yes, Achievements (including art attached to them) are stored in the cloud as long as you have space to do so. The console will let you know if you ever run out of space for that. There isn't a way to pull Achievement
art and upload it to OneDrive though like I mentioned you can do with Screenshots and Game DVR.

As far as the editing post is concerned, I'm passing your comments to the proper teams. The forums are still evolving and we appreiciate the feedback. How do I back up achievement art, screenshots, and video clips to USB thumb drive? :)

I hope I answered all of your questions, please post back if you have any additional questions!

  6. Hi. Thanks so much for your response! When I open GameDVR, There's a drop down list at the top, and all of my screenshots are under "This Xbox." There's a category called "Xbox Live." When I view a screenshot, there's an option to "Upload to Xbox Live."
What, precisely, happens if I do this? I'm uncertain if this is simply adding the content to my account in a cloud-type fashion, or if it's getting added to some public space accessible by random people. It doesn't say it's being shared or anything, just the
    words "Upload to Xbox Live."

  7. No problem,

So in this case you're correct, uploading to Xbox Live is just going to upload the clip so that you'll be able to view it on another console via the cloud storage. You'll be able to share it to your activity feed or to your friends if you choose, but this
    wouldn't happen automatically.
