    Friends appearing forever offline even though they are online

    a few on my friends list always appear offline even though they are online. I know them in real life and have seen their settings in person. They also dont appear offline to everyone. How do I fix this? We have removed each other and readded, done hard reboots
    yet nothing works.please advise.

    Appearing as Offline to friends on Xbox Live

    Hi,

    I appear as offline to my friends on Xbox Live when I am logged in and playing the same game. I am able to join party and games but do not show as online. I have tried power cycling my system and have my profile settings set to public, but still appear offline.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi bro u can do this in the privacy settings theres a option i dont remember the exact wording but it is "appear online to friends or to everyone on live

    Being followed on xbox live.

    Please change your account privacy settings, specifically your online privacy setting to only appear as online to your 'Friends Only'. Also, instruct the friends you play with to do the same with their accounts.

    Doing this will show you as offline to this person. When you appear offline, this person will no longer be able to follow you around on Xbox LIVE. The option for them to join your game sessions will be greyed out. I ask that your friends do the same because
    typically, if this person can not join via your Gamertag, they will try to join your games via one of your friends. If your friends also appear offline, this person will not be able to join you at all.
