  1. How do I always appear offline on Xbox One?

Defy, there are numerous people that I've asked about the invites issue that is being brought to light and most of them say that they don't mind the invites at all. I do think you're right about some people being anti-social, though. I think it's just really
a matter of finding the right people more than anything. Shortly after getting the X1, I had a shortage of friends, not because of my methods, but simply because not many of them made the transition to the new console. I tried to make up for that by adding
many of the people from the forums quite hastily thinking that because they were already a part of the forum community that they would already be social butterflies - that's my mistake. I'm already in the process of rectifying that (as are many others it apparently
    seems).

Also why would people hate me once they see my name? How does a name automatically make someone hate me? Unless you're talking about someone I've upset in the past that still holds a grudge against me (which, when it comes to games, I think is pretty childish
    and stupid).

As for the Kinect, I have no choice but to use it - I wish you would understand and respect that. I suffer from severe hearing loss and there are no headsets that I can wear with my hearing aids that are a) comfortable to wear with my hearing aids, b) that
don't cause feedback with my hearing aids, and/or c) loud enough for me to hear (with or without the hearing aids) - this includes the headset that came in the box (that I still have but can't use because I can't hear anyone through it well enough to understand
them - even with the hearing aids). This however, again, can easily be fixed by MS, just like seeing who has what games as I mentioned above. In this case, all they would need is to allow for the ability to have all chat come through the TV speakers, like
the option on the Xbox 360. If they would do that, then I could hear everyone clearly through the speakers like I do with the Kinect, but still use the headset to communicate with you without having all of the background issues.

In any case, again, most people on my friends list don't seem to have issue with my Kinect (at least openly) and I do everything I can to minimize interference or issues with the Kinect for their sake if they let me know about it. I Know numerous ways to
make it easier on you and others, but if you don't let me know, how can I know if anything is wrong?

I play games a lot, I admit - now I average 2 or 3 hours a day (I'm actually spending more time on the Internet and these forums nowadays), but I usually only spend about 1 minute sending invites to friends. I still find it hard to believe that 1 or 2 invites
a day actually bothers people. As I said before, if it really bothers you that much, go ahead and remove me as a friend. If you do I will completely understand and will not take it personally. I do, however, ask that you not block me, as that may negatively
affect my rep - there really is no need for that. Also, if someone could get in touch with EvilTedi and ask him to unblock me I'd appreciate it. He doesn't have to re-add me as a friend (and I wouldn't ask him to), but I do think he took it too far by blocking
me. He can stop my apparently constant invites by simply removing me as a friend because when you remove someone as a friend, it also removes them as a follower too, and as such, it means he won't receive any more invites from me. There are solutions without
having to block me... How do I always appear offline on Xbox One? ;)

  2. I think I might be the biggest enigma, I can't really say for sure, but I feel like I would come across as a fairly social and approachable guy through the forums.

    In reality, I hate people....

    I can relate to that.^^^

I will happily talk to 90% of the people here. As far as on Live, im very picky as to who I chat or game with.

How do I always appear offline on Xbox One?

I could make a few points in this from my perspective:

@fyerball I'm the same way with my friends list; I only accept a few amount of people and the people I have accepted; we've played and/or chatted with one another for a while.

For XBL, I like to do that at times: socialize and maybe if they could, play games with one another without being obsence or requesting me to "JOIN MY CLAN!!!111!". I've used the forums to find some decent people to chat to, and it worked out well.

@Defy That being said, I don't like to send invites to friends to play a game unless I get bored/want to socialize. I feel if I would constantly unintentionally bombared someone with messages, they'll delete/block me and I'll get flagged for spamming/harrassment.
Which I don't want. Simply texting/sending messages to friends, communicating with them is fine with me.

@GG One the one hand, I agree with how you handle your list: what;s the point of having "friends" on your list if one day, we've met, had a great time communicating/playing with one another and the next minute, you get deleted or you never hear from them
again. Not to sound needy, but if a friend I have haven't spoke to one another in a while and just not response, I'd send them a message asking what's up and text. If they'd wouldn't response, I'd wonder if they're too busy to reply, bored of me ot just...I
    don't know.

I hate having friends that I've, to an extent, grown attached too and then just not talk anymore and just delete you without saying anything/why they've deleted you. I'm a bit worried to lose a couple friends that I've really connected to because of "inactivity."

Am I antisocial? I don't talk in matchmaking because of how random the community can be (singing, swearing, stupid stuff) and the typical cliche. But I'd like to have decent-minded people on XBL to talk about things to keep the loneliness at bay, not even
to game with but simple text messages are fine. If I'd get annoyed by a certain friend's actions (invites, strange comments, vice versa..), I'd like to tell them that I was a bit annoyed as I'd like the same if I made someone uncomfortable instead of just
deleting me at random with no explanation.

@GG you've mentioned following the CoC, I was worried that those invites you constantly send to your friends and to my hands, wouldn't that be considered a "bannable offense" of harrassment?

  5. Maybe I'm not so much of an enigma then, I thought I was special. =(

To put it in perspective though, Akame was trying to get me into a party for about a full year. I finally obliged though, hahaha.

  7. @gamerXpress, I don't think it is because I've been doing it for years with no warnings, suspensions, bans, or adverse changes to my rep from Xbox Live whatsoever. Like I said before, there are many ways to avoid it without having to report or block someone.
I think most people probably don't care enough and simply ignore the invites or don't bother complaining to the person sending the invites and just "take care of it" themselves.

Just be selective in your invites, if someone isnt playing AW or Worms, or whatever your flavour of the day is dont invite them to play it unless they are in your innner circle of One friends and you think they may drop whatever they are doing to join.
Getting invites to games I dont own I find really irritating as it just shows a lack of courtesy in my book and I do class such invites as spam.

Go to your profile on the Xbox 1 Dashboard and select your profile, and change to Appear Offline. On Xbox 360 Dashboard, go to Preferences and select Appear Offline. Or, go to your Account, Privacy Options, Custom, find Online Status, and select Everyone,
Friends Only, or Private.... that's on topic.

As for game invites, I don't have a big of a hissy as what is going on in this discussion. Sure it can get annoying sometimes but M gives you Dashboard tools on how to respond. I don't think Blocking should contribute to a bad rep. Especially if you're blocked
because someone finds messages you sent them annoying, or because you followed them and the other doesn't accept your friend request so quite simply they block you. I can easily unblock peps on Xbox 360. Say a friend spammed me. I got annoyed with him or her.
I blocked them. The next day we chat and everything is alright. I send them a game invite or message, and the Blocking is lifted. It's kind of common courtesy to know what games your friends have. It's also good to send a message before following or friend
requesting someone, unless you've recently played with them and by recently I mean within the last hour.

I have to say sometimes when I'm on Xbox 360 (or Xbox 1), I sometimes tend to have no one to play with when I really want someone, and when I don't want to be bothered, a flood or friends send me messages and invites. I usually have at least some friends
on 360 and Xbox 1 to play with. Have a full Xbox 360 friends list and an additional 4 friends from Xbox 1. But again.... they don't call it XBOX LIVE for nothing How do I always appear offline on Xbox One? :)

  10. Genchy, while your advice is practical, it really only works if you have a lot of friends for each game. At any given time, I can usually only find 2-3 friends already playing the game I feel like playing, and they're usually already too busy in a game or
match to join me, so I end up playing alone or attempting to invite others anyways.

Funnily enough, SSB's suggestion is the opposite - knowing which games your friends have only really works if you have a small group of friends, which I don't (at least not yet). I do know a few friend's favorites - for example, SSB loves Minecraft. However,
knowing when he's on and getting him (or others for other games) to play with me is an entirely different matter.

  11. @Red - Now that you've actually made me think about it (I was joking), but no, I don't want to be special and the fact that two others have related to my post actually makes me feel a little less self conscious about so antisocial at times.
