How do I add non-Xbox controllers?

My son has managed to disconnect his xbox account from the family control screen in the xbox. He is now able to look at allsorts of stuff unsuitable for kids through his account. How can I add him back to the parental controls on the xbox. There appears
to be no guide on how to do this?

I need a simple step by step guide explaining how to add a child to the family control on xbox?

It has nothing to do with Steam, just an observation. Microsoft went out of their way to prevent third party controllers from working. I sometimes add non-steam games to steam just to use the controller configurator, but here I can't even do that as the exe files are inaccessible.

In order to add a second player/controller to your NBA2K14 game you will need to log in to a second profile. Once logged in to this second profile you can add and set up the second controller in the same manner as you did for your first controller.

add the game into steam client as a non steam game and it should work using steams controller support.
