Thank you for clarifying. This issue would fall under the Windows category. I will be moving this to the appropriate team to handle this concern.

No, I meant that windows would not let me add a microsoft account without windows hello. I want to add one just for apps, but I do not want to setup windows hello, but I still want to keep windows hello for my current user, I do not want to add any new users, just an account.

You may do a account swap. What it does, is it takes your gamertag and puts it to the new Microsoft Account you want it associated with.

Xbox Live gamertags are associated with a Microsoft account for sign-in purposes. If you want to switch your existing gamertag to a different Microsoft account, see Switch a gamertag to another Microsoft account for information about how to do this.

Use your Xbox app with a different Microsoft account

To switch to a different Microsoft account than the one you’re signed in with in your Xbox app—as you’d want to do if your Xbox gamertag is associated with a different Microsoft account (formerly known as a Windows Live ID)—do the following.

Sign in to your PC using a different Microsoft account

1.On your PC, select the Settings charm.

2.Select Change PC settings.

3.Select Users.

4.Under Other users, select an account.

If needed, select Add a user and enter the email address and password for the Microsoft account you want to use.
