    How do i add a friend to a child's account?


    I have a 10yo and she wants to play minecraft with her friends, but i can not locate in her account where to add friends.

    I have logged into my master account for family, but it won't let me view her settings (try again later message).

    I have tried on PC, mobile and console.

    Any direction at this time would be helpful since I am sure most parents these days are scratching their heads as well.

    How do i add a friend to a child's account?

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently inquiring about how to add Friends on your account.

    As long as you have properly
    configured your child's account    , you would simply need to follow these steps to add a someone to your Friends list:

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
    2. Go left to the People tab, and scroll down to select
      Find someone      .
    3. Enter the individuals Gamertag.
    4. There should be a section that reads Everyone On Xbox, your friend should appear there when you search for them.
    5. Once you find them you should have the option to add them to your Friends list.

    I hope this is was able to clarify any confusion this might have caused.

    I am pretty sure I did this step and found her friends, but when I select them, the information that would normally show up on the next page does not show anything. I can click add, but it does nothing.

    I tried logging into the family account to double check I allowed her to add friends, but I can not access this either. Is the microsoft xbox server down? Are there issues here we don't know? I really can not be sure of anything since I just tried this with
    my youngest, but had similar issues yesterday.

    I'm trying to change setting so my child can add friends on Mine Craft to their PS4..which should be through my Microsoft account. I am unable to locate where I make that change.
