How do developers get their games on Xbox?

Hello, I was wondering how big game developers go about getting their games onto the xbox store for sale? Does Microsoft call and ask to have it added or do the devs contact Xbox? Please let me know! Thanks.

Who does the money from Xbox Live subscriptions go to?

Does this all go straight to Microsoft or do the developers get a cut depending on how often the community plays their games online?

Unlike the PC platform, you can't just make a game for Xbox - or any console for that matter - and then ask for it to be added to the Store. In order to release a game on any videogame console, the publisher must pay a royalty to the manufacture, whether
Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo, for distributing a game on their system.

These licencing arrangements also allow for the purchase of development kits, hardware not available to consumers. I'm no developer or publisher, but I would assume in this 21st Century world, getting a game on the store for download is a little more involved
than a phone call.

Who is paying $50/month? Live's MSRP is $60/yr, though with sales
on subscription cards I've not paid list price since 2005... Call of Duty Elite is $50/yr.

THE ONLY REASON I ASK IS BECAUSE MW3 AND RECENT GAMES HAVE REALLY MADE A HARD PUSH FOR ONLINE CONTENT.

Are you referring to Call of Duty Elite? You're paying
for extra "Elite" stuff from Activision.

No, it's not a kickback thing. Bandwidth is not free. I don't believe Microsoft charges devs for the bandwidth their products use on Live
(in terms of downloading of DLC). Other companies aren't as nice (Sony).
