How did you mount your Kinect?

I brought one of these, it comes with a tv stand or a wall mountable stand. Also my Kinect seems to hear me better since I used it, may be a coincidence.

might depend on your height.... if you are smaller than avg.. it should work, and/or how far away you are... can you not mount to the top of your TV?

 

Poor choice of words for the subject line, but it's certainly good for a laugh. At least the subject matter is serious, anyways. To answer your question, my Kinect sensor sits on the same TV stand the TV does, directly in front of the TV.

 

Oh dear lol, I didn't even realize until Fatalshock mentioned English isn't my native language, although I'm fairly fluent in it but sometimes things like this happen lol

Personally I just recently bought a new TV. With my old one I could've have the Kinect below the TV on the TV stand, but not with the new TV anymore, as it doesn't have as high profile stand as my old TV.. Also I'd rather put it on top of the TV somehow,
as that's (according to MS) the most optimal way, "even if it works just fine even under the TV".

 

mine actually sits perfectly balanced right on the TV bezel.... my tv's frame is somewhat wide at that top center so it has more than enough surface area to sit without the chance of falling... HOWEVER.. I do have 3 cats and my TV sits on a low bookcase
and is between 2 windows.. and if you have cats.. you would understand that they run between the 2 windows,, BEHIND my TV.. where the wires are.... so my ghetto mount is some packing tape... holding the Kinect and other wires flush down to the base of the
TV, then down behind the bookcase

 

mine is on my the base of by TV, but i've been thinking about buying a tv mount to put it higher and save space

 

I sit at a desk so my Kinect doesn't really have much use in terms of motion control and body gestures. I have it set up though, conveniently, it's a perfect fit to go in the stand of an iMac, so that's where it sits ^_^

 

Mine is on top of my cable box a little worried about the cable box giving off too much heat but it's been there since release day and no problems yet

 

I stuck it behind the TV so I can use the audio commands like "XBOX RECORD THAT" without having the dang thing looking into my home!

 

I picked up one of these, so the Kinect sits on top of my TV. Quick install, works great.

i have one of these also, at first i had it below my TV and the voice commands worked flawlessly from anywhere in the room, but hand gestures were a little hit n' miss when i tried selecting something, now with the mount, the hand gestures work much better,
but the voice commands are hit n' miss when i'm more than 4 feet away, but still works better than the 360 Kinect.... in hindsight, i actually don't think i've redone the setup since putting on the mount... that might be the issue.

 

i wouldn't want to attach anything to my TV like that .. seems like it would mess the TV up.

how do you mean, like scratching the TV?

 

The $20 tv mount works great It couldn't hear me well sitting on the tv stand becaus that's where my sound bar is
