How Did The Xbox One Pass Quality Testing?

Seriously guys what the actual hell.

This is is the third day in a row I come home and first thing booting up its giving me issues.

Ive had problems with it since the day I bought it, my friend has had similar and different problems and his cousin (I know both irl) had to return his immediately because it was overheating and shutting down.

Now im aware this is a small sample group. I also feel obligated to point out that I have a friends list of over 500 players. Typically close to 150-200 online at one time. I play with nearly every one of these players on a fairly regular basis. A full
half have the same issues as me, others have issues I dont, and some have fun mixes of either or.

Parry app app doesn't work correctly. It will read people as offline as well as simply not open (seems an issue with all apps on the console.)

It will constantly forget app data. It doesn't sound that bad, but when you work a 12 hour day outdoors its a huge nuisance to need to log in to Hulu or Netflix for the umpteenth time.

It won't let you switch users. Happens regularly. Can't open any apps, can't switch users, won't shut down or home screen or anything. I can move my cursor around but that's it.

After locking up it typically requires a hard reset or it will not shut down. No prompt will appear via the home button and when you manually shut it off the Xbox button blinks for 5-10+ minutes before it will shut down.

Hilariously my these are all issues I can just pull right off the top of my head. I mean we are talking basic functions here that don't even work. I didn't even mention the fact my games randomly shut down, sending me to the home screen and causing me
to die, lose gear, progress, etc....which if I'm binge playing happens every 1-3 hours.

The graphics are great but that's about all this piece of crap has going for it.

I feel like Microsoft took a first gen Xbox, took it apart, added some stuff from windows 97 and an HDMI port and called it a day.

WATCH DOGS Season Pass?

Hey.. I was wondering if everyone knows.. Even though I did found a website where it says that Season pass works from Xbox 360 to Xbox One... And I would like to know if Watch Dogs Xbox 360 Season Pass works for Xbox one..... Why? Because one day when I
got Call of Duty Ghosts.. I first got it for Xbox One... Then Activated the Season Pass for it... Then Later I got the Hardened Edition for Xbox 360 of COD: Ghosts, And Sadly I noticed that The Season Pass from Xbox One did not work onto Xbox 360... So I was
very lucky my Hardened Edition contain the The Season Pass for free..... So The question I am looking for again... Is that How Do I Get The Season Pass to work between Xbox 360 and Xbox one for Any Same Both Game... Including Watch Dogs as an Example.

Was it a launch console? Mines been pretty trouble free, it did hang for about a minute today going into Upload Studio, was about to hard reset it thinking it locked up, but started to work again on its own.

I like to keep a small friends list, but none of them are saying they are having those issues.

 

No it's not a launch console, I only bought it in November. One of the new ones during a GameStop special or other. I've had the slow shut down issue literally since the first night I used it.

And the first comment was entirely directed at the first poster, not the second.

 

Party chat and other chat issues have been a problem since launch. Not much anyone can do but wait. Luckily for Me I haven't had your issues but I don't really use apps and have a small friends list.

The only problem I am having is my tenure isn't showing. I hope it starts to work better for you.

 

I have about 200 or so friends and haven't heard any complains similar to yours at all from them. Maybe it's because I haven't taken the time to ask them? Then again, I like to think positively, and prefer to think the world is not so full of doom and gloom.

While I admit that the party system could do with a bit of improvement, I haven't had any of the issues that you've described, at least to the extent that you're referring to.

Regarding switching, between me and my brother, we can switch profiles just fine, both with and without the Kinect sensor with nary an issue.

With the games and apps, I have had a few not load up properly, but that is usually VERY rare (like once a month or so) and as such is not something I tend to worry about. I obviously wouldn't know if it's more frequent on your console, but if it is, I can
certainly see why you'd be concerned. I recommend you set your console to power-saver mode and turn it off regularly when not in use - that usually helps keep any issues at bay (at least for me).

I've never lost any progress to any of my games either due to how frequently the game saves progress to the cloud, so I can't really say much about that happening to me, like it seems to happen to you.

I have witnessed the blinking light upon turning off the console on occasion, and have wondered about it myself, but it doesn't seem to be console-breaking, IMO, so again, it's not something I would stress over. Besides, when I check the console the next
day, it seems to have turned off properly at some point, so as long as that happens, it's not an issue in my book.

Hard resets seem to be the ultimate fixer for everything with this console. While I don't like having to do it on occasion, I understand its utility and necessity and will not fault the console for it doing something that actively helps fix issues repeatedly.

The only time my apps seem to forget data is with the Internet Explorer app. It seems whenever I do a hard reset, I'll have to sign back into my usually-visited websites, like this 1, but with a USB keyboard, it's a minor nuisance at best.

My advice is not to worry so much...

If you want things to change, you're more than welcome to leave your ideas on the feedback site, where suggestions and improvements are made and voted on every single day - it's the one place where MS seems to listen and it has been used to improve the console
every single month for a while now. If you don't voice your concerns there, then your voice might as well fall on deaf ears. As you can see, most people here are already putting in the ear plugs because they hear enough of this same old tripe day in and day
out and are, to be frank, sick of it. Nothing against you, of course, but there are proper channels for this kind of thing.

I genuinely hope your issues get resolved in time.

 

If you only bought it in nov , it is still under warranty .

Contact support and start the return procedure , I hope it all works out for you .

Apologies as it's early but I'm not sure what problems you have been having since launch or just recent? Because you started your post ...

As I said, apologies as I've not been up long and need a few more drinks thrown into my eyes for them to work.

Anyway it definitely sounds to me like you have an underlying issue somewhere. Sure I've had the odd issue with friends list not loading ( Changing the friends list view usually sorts that out )

Being thrown back to the dashboard in games. Funny I said in another posted recently, I've not had this happen to me on a game now since before Christmas, use to get it quite a bit on games like Battlefield 4 but you say they are randomly shutting down if
your playing for 1-3 hours, this doesn't sound right.

If I was you I'd call Xbox Support, see what they suggest.

I would try switching from instant on mode to energy saving mode if your using it - it always causes me no end of problems if I use in instant on.

As for the blinking xbox logo after powering down, I see this too, I think it's where it is continuing to update a game or load to the cloud.

 

I've recently heard this kind of crunchy sound on my Day 1 Edition console in the disc drive when I try to insert a Blu-ray or DVD or game disc. This issue only popped up 1-2 weeks ago. It's resolved by ejecting the disc and inserting it a few times. Xbox
1 operating system issues such as Party Chat issues loading friends list issues and apps not loading correctly, are software related, NOT hardware related. Minecraft use to have problems for me syncing and accessing my saved games, unlike Xbox 360, game saves
save straight to Xbox Live servers. But I can access my worlds again. I'll never transfer my 360 worlds over to X1. I haven't had any issues with my Kinect. If it can't pick me up or hear me, simply position it well and calibrate it.

 

Not an X1 owner, but If I may.

I dont know if the date of manufacture label is on or even visable through the box of a New console or not But if so, I would not purchase any X1 built before December 2014.

In this way it maybe possible to avoid a lot of headaches. Thus leaving those old RUSHED to market manufactured consoles on the shelves, and in so doing may actually obtain a quality console that passed rigerious Quality Control testing before reaching store
shelves. Remember, when they have big pushes for sales. Its 1st in 1st out... So observe the date of manufacture, and ask for better build dates. If they dont have any... simply visit another store.

Better 2B demanding B4 you buy rather than spend 350 plus bucks on what may be/become a lemon.

 

As an actual XBox ONE owner with a launch console I can happily confirm that ElectroFlying doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

He also raises the somewhat contentious but painfully obvious point that some of the people trying to offer you advice here could not even be trusted to look after your goat.
