How did I get banned for a Screenshot?

So I just an email saying that I have been banned for taking a screenshot which is absurd. Apparently a screenshot cannot contain profanity, sexual topics, hate speech, controversial religious topics, references to notorious people or organizations, sensitive
current or historical events, extreme violence. So does that mean you just can't take screenshots in games like GTA? It violates just about every single one of those rules. The game itself is rated M so shouldn't a screenshot from the game be rated M as well?
You shouldn't be expected to sit there and look up that list every time you want to take a screenshot. In Call of Duty you run around murdering people so would that violate these rules? The only screenshot I've taken in the last few days was of a very small
poster I found in Saints Row IV that had Shauna with her top off and the nipples were one pixel. So how is that worse than someone getting blown apart or maimed? You see that constantly in most people's screenshots. I never send messages, I always start a
party before playing so that I don't hear people talking in game chat, and I never post to my activity feed because I know how easy it is to get banned. But now I get banned for a screenshot of something that every single person who plays the game sees? It
doesn't make any sense to me.

The game itself is rated M, but anything you share over Live has to be E rated basically.

 

By that logic everyone on Xbox live who's ever made a game clip in an M rated game should be banned.

 

Some one sent me a picture of their privates to me over Xbox, I was 14 at the time I think and he didn't get banned when I filed a complaint. The fact that you got banned for that if it's true is pretty silly.

What do you mean whole story? That's the only screenshot I've taken in the past few weeks so I don't know what else it could be. Here's a picture of the enforcement action where it says screenshot.

It seems obvious that you broke the rules. Not every screenshot taken from an "M" rated game would include objectionable material so that argument really don't fly. As Sumwutches said if you share it over live it must be "E" rated.

If you have doubts then don't share it.

 

Can you not see how mad this is when cheaters are free to cheat, I get banned for complaining about it and this guy gets banned for a screenshot? The banning is so inconsistent and dodgy.

 

I can tell you that Grand Theft Auto and Gears of War both Auto record cops for getting triple kills, getting head shots, or for getting ejected out of your car. Every single one of those are guaranteed not to be E rated so should all the people who play
those games with the DVR enabled be banned? Also clips auto upload to Xbox Live by default unless you turn that off and I didn't even realize you could do that until yesterday.

 

Also try naming one thing (other than a wall or a floor) in an M rated game that you could take a screenshot/gameclip of that would be rated E.

 

Posting nudity will get you banned. This wasn't some auto posted video. You CHOSE to post it. Stop acting like it is the same thing.

What you are missing here is the single player game is rated M. The interaction on Xbox Live is not rated at all and every game explicitly says that in it's ratings box. Auto posting video is allowed by the game publisher and Xbox Live. Taking video or snapshots
and editing them and posting nudity, or video with swearing opens you up to being banned.

I suggest reading the Code of Conduct and Terms of Use if you are confused about any of this.

 

I'm not sure I follow along with your argument. Do you really think that a pixelated naked photo is worse than someone getting chainsawed in half with blood flying everywhere while they'rescreaming(Gears of War)? And you know I didn't edit the photo at all
its a part of the game that everyone sees you literally can't miss it because it's one of the objectives in the main story. Every screenshot and game clip on xbox live is auto uploaded. Usually within half an hour you'll see it show up on your friends feed
you don't manually upload everything.

 

It doesn't matter what I think. It matters what the TOU and COC say. Willfully taking the pic and posting it is what got you got you banned. The game didn't take the screenshot and post it, you did. You got banned for it. What part of that don't you follow?
