How did gaming get so bad?

The internet.

Before you used to play the game and enjoy it.

Now you read the internet and are prepared to meet the game with objections and complaints before you've even tried it out.

Worst afflicted are PC users who can't play the game that the developers actually created before they've applied several different MODs to fix faults that someone else (who usually hasn't played the game either) told them existed.

Unfortunately it's spread to console as well. "Destiny" is fantastic game to millions, but some people have let pure speculation on the internet kill their ability to enjoy the game because they've bought into a bunch of stuff that people made guesses about.

Here in this thread is some poor guy is gonna miss out on "Star Wars: Battlefront" because it's not the 360 version?!?!?!

 

OR...some people have tried Destiny over several periods of time (since release) and still don't find it enjoyable?? Everything is subjective, including the points made by the OP and every reply in this thread.

 

I started to play Destiny right after the first EXP PACK. I liked it but it felt like a free to play game.

 

I've played more fun free to play game's than Destiny. It's kind on weird because I enjoyed the beta, but when I bought the game at release it seemed so friggin boring.

 

Wow I must really have hit the nail square and firmly on the head if people are scrambling to criticise "Destiny" and ignore the point I made above.

I could leap to "Destiny's" defense but I don't need to.

Pick any game you like and you'll find an internet full of fools who read some fiction on the internet and made a dumb decision about the game based on what they read.

 

You will also find an internet full of fools defending "any game you choose"...My point still stands, vast majority of these points are SUBJECTIVE as are many things in life. I only used Destiny as an example because you did...

 

I only used "Destiny" to set up all the people who rushed in to have a go at it.

You make a great point though.

What harm is dumb stuff on the internet going to do anybody... unless you have people dumb enough to believe it.

With the internet at our fingertips we think we know everything.

We're lazy, like to draw our own conclusions and most people aren't prepared to admit it or acknowledge it when they draw a dumb one.

Dumb stuff on the Internet has already done a lot of harm, because people, as a whole, are often stupid - it's a herd mentality. ><

 

^Nowadays, I'd call it a "heard" mentality... cuz that's whut I heard on the internetz, so I don't have to make up my own mind... I just haz to choose which side to join based on the pre rendered reasons that make the most sense to me. Why would I need to
experience it for myself? lol
