How could this have happened so I can be more precautious next time ?

I have An xbox series s black 1Tb console that I ordered on September 9th, unfortunately I’m very disappointed that after a couple months this happens to me which is the Xbox turns on and shuts right off after 10 seconds of starting up. Yesterday my console was working perfectly fine and smoother then ever and this morning I turn it on just for it to not be able to be on for more then 10 seconds as said. It wouldn’t even appear on my monitor that it was turning on. The white Xbox icon button would just appear white and then go back to black. Another thing I noticed was when I turned it on the fan made its regular noise as usual and starting up but not even 3 seconds in the fan noise lowers a lot and not air is going through the vents at which that point I knew something was wrong.

I'm sorry to hear your console is not working as expected.

Not only that, but I would like to ask if you tried the following potential solutions:

A. Reset the internal power supply:

Unplug the power cord from the console.
Wait 10 seconds.
Plug the cord back into the console, and then press the Xbox button on the front of the console.

B. Check that the wall outlet you’re using is working with other devices.

C. Check that the power cable is firmly connected to the wall outlet and to your console.

D. Ensure that you're using the power cable which came with your console, and that it's the correct cable for your region.

This can happen if there is interruption in streaming from USB. It is likely that it doesn't happen again after you have bypassed the pop in because that section is in memory. Even if you moved away and went back it could be that the USB streams properly
the next time you are back in that area so you wouldn't see the issue again.

Just one of the down sides of games that stream a lot of data constantly (usually from DVD) when on a USB. Interruptions in streaming will be noticed with pop up or more depending how big the interruption was.
