how come you can't turn voice volume to zero on the dash for all games?

on 360 there was a setting in Preferences where you could turn voice volume to zero. This would mute everyone in every game you played. But on Xbox One I can't see a similar setting - you have to mute people individually. Why did MS leave this option out
on X1?

yay millions of others are struggling like me. my mic has zero volume. It can't register my voice nor let me hear other people, yet the yellow light still turns on when I hit mute. SOMEONE PLEASE FIND A SOLUTION AHHHHH D:

How can turn off chat through my TV speakers without plugging in the headset? The 360 had on option to lower the chat volume to zero, but I can't find any such option on the ONE

 

press - on head set controll panle. And you would mute everyone in every game. Or start a private chat party for one. And you would get it. It now all in apps.

 

most of the new games have a "mute all" feature as soon as you enter multiplayer and press the menu button.

 

or just turn off the voice chat with kinect feature then you'd only voice if you have a headset plugged in.

 

Or I'm pretty sure you can turn voice communication off in the privacy setting or just have it on for friends.

 

... thanks for replies, you can turn voice and text communication off in privacy settings but only both or neither. I would still like to send and receive text messages so would need separate settings for voice and text. Might try the private party for one
idea.
