How come Japanese/Korean game devs have never made a FPS ?

Something I jsut realized the other day. I dont think I have once seen a Asian made first person shooter. I have several theories but due to the overly PC world we live in I wont be sharing them, Still I would like to know why this isnt a thing. I mean Ive
played plenty of Asian themed shooter, SHOGO Mobile Armor Division, Shadow Warrior, etc but not one I can say was developed by our eastern brothers. Thoughts ?

    :)

There was a time when Japanese devs made the best games, but the best devs now are definitely coming out of the West.

    JRPGs on Xbox One

FPS rules,so a lot of game genres are left behind.....

Also the RPG devs/publishers who makes money are Bioware/EA,Bethesda,Gearbox/Take-two,....

And the last 2 big japanese succes we saw are Dark Soul and Dragon'Dogma, which are not JRPG.....

Maybe some devs/publishers will have the guts to bring JRPG on Xbox one (and maybe some RTS too).

If I had to guess, I'd say it's cultural. By its very design, FPS sees weapons as disposable - a tool to be used then thrown away. Over there, weapons are seen as part of the user. This is mostly seen in mecha anime like Gundam or their equivalent. Oh, and
their culture does not glorify violence like America does.

RPG is more their forte, but we all already know that.

So you make up a topic, tell us you have theories but then decide not to tell us?

It's just down to culture. I lived in S. Korea from 2005 to 2006 (teaching English). I used to go to a PC place twice a day to check email since we didn't have a computer at home. They had these PC places everywhere. It was like ₩ 1,000 per hour which is
like a dollar. They would be packed day and night but they all played the same looking WoW type game. They still had a lot of arcades then. In them they were all fighting games. Tekken and Street fighter and VF4.

    It's just a cultural thing.

Maybe because Japanese don't like FPS as much as we Western Gamers (Americans, Europeans, Australians) do, so not many of them tend to make a FPS game. The FPS genre is not very popular in Japan compared to North America, Europe, and Oceania (Australia &
New Zealand), Japanese are more into RPGs, MMOs, or just any Anime-style game.
