How come I need a credit card to get a Xbox 360 game for the games with gold subscription

I paid for a year subscription to be able to play both games when they come out for each month and i currently don't have a credit card to use as a way to pay for the free games. Is there a way i can get those games without having to go through that process
with the games with gold. The fact i might miss out on those opportunities is really sad for me.

Xbox Gold and Xbox Live Cards

Hi, I'm new to the xbox live situation and was wondering if someone could answer a question I had. I was thinking of getting a subscription to try out the live gaming and take advantage of the free games that come with the gold account, but can you use a
xbox live gold membership card, the cards they sell at the stores, to take advantage of the free games, or do you need to use a credit card? I was reading the FAQ on xbox gold and they did mention you would need a credit card, but there was no mention of the
gold membership cards.

I'm planning on buying a xbox live gold membership card ( I don't want use a credit card) but before I do, I want to know if I'll get the free gold games or not. Also is a 1 year subscription required, or can you get away with a 3 month subscription?

Getting Xbox 360 games without credit card?

Hi,

My credit card has been hacked online multiple times and I am not going to use it online again, so how am I meant to get a FREE Xbox 360 game with my gold subscription??

I don't care how secure it is I'm sorry, I will not be using a credit card online...

Since that is not a Rewards program issue, this is the wrong forum. But when Microsoft started the currency system, they never updated the store on the One or website to recognize your Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for 360 content.
So you have to have a payment method on file in order to purchase 360 content anywhere but on a 360 console, even if it's free.

You will need a credit card OR Xbox 360 in order to get Games with Gold - Xbox 360 backwards compatible games due to the store.

Yes you can buy a 3 month gold card to get the free games for gold.

You do not need a credit card.

Be sure to buy a subscription card and not a microsoft credit points card, your microsoft balance can not be used to buy gold time.

This is how works 360 market. to get the games with gold you need to have a credit card added to your account, but wont be charged.

Unfortunately Xbox 360 game purchases can't be completed on an Xbox One console or at Xbox.com without having a payment method such as a debit/credit card registered to your account. One you have done this it should allow you to complete the Xbox 360 games
with gold purchase without charge.

If you try to complete this purchase on an Xbox 360 console you will not need to register another payment method.

Please note not all Xbox Live Gold subscriptions (typically trial subscriptions) include Xbox 360 games with gold games.
