    How come every time I try to move a game to my external drive the installation stops?


    I've had this external drive connected to my xbox one s for a long time and have always never been able to download games onto it, but in the past I have always been able to get around the issue. Now though I'd really like to keep all of my current games,
    but move some to my external so I can actually update one of my games. Every time I select move to external drive I can see the announcement in the queue for about 2 minutes during which time it doesn't move and inevitably I get an installation stopped message.
    Does any one know how I can fix this issue?

    I have not actual had this issue myself, i have the external drive set up as my primary storage source. Here is a link to understanding and trouble shooting some issues with

    I did that already but it’s still saying installation stopped.

    How can I change the installation location from Xbox app as every time I try and download the game through the app it says that I don’t have enough storage. It’s not recognising that I have an external hard drive.

    Your hard drive is correctly formatted to Xbox games?

    The problem happens while installing apps?

    Is it possible that the game(s) you're trying to install are already (partially) installed on your console's internal drive, and the internal drive is full?
    Hard drive is correctly formatted.

    I addressed all your questions in my post. I cannot transfer games to my external drive, only apps. As soon as I try and move them, they stop installation. I have completely removed games from my internal drive, they still will not download to the external
    drive.
