    back in 2019 I got a gold subscription and turned off recurring billing but as I'm getting a new subscription and its 2020 is turning off recurring billing the same.

    Microsoft Reoccurring billing

    You can turn off recurring billing by going to account.microsoft.com and select services and subscriptions, and on game pass subscription select manage and from there you can turn off recurring billing.

    You can turn off recurring billing by accessing your subscriptions on your microsoft account. It should have options next to the subscription that will allow you to turn off recurring billing.
