How can my child use the money on his account? he apparently has to balances on his accounts

What are they trying to buy exactly? If you have credit for Microsoft rewards that has an expiry date which gift cards purchased with Cash do not

If you put money on the child's account and he purchases something, he owns that item since it was purchased on his account. On his Home console, anyone can be signed in to access the game. On any other console, his account has to be signed in in order to
access the game.

It is my account that has the credit, and my son's account that I want it to go to. He is already in my family group on Microsoft Families.

And I cannot place money in his account. We have checked the permissions and all is set correctly.

On their site it says an account balance and gift cards are not transferable.

I am having the same issue. I need to switch my account that my son has been using to a child account to limit his time. Either that or find a way to switch his game progress & money to his child account.

Please use the adult Microsoft account linked to the child account. Go to the Microsoft Family page: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/user/settings/privac... to manage family settings.

You can add money to the child's Microsoft account balance. This allows your child to make purchases without needing a credit card.

And if the "Ask a Parent" feature is enabled, your child can request a subscription purchase, and you can approve it via email or directly on the family settings page.

Alternatively, you can purchase an Xbox gift card and redeem it on the child account and he can use it in buying the subscription from his account.
