    how can I watch tv through xbox one and on another imput on tv


    I set up tv on xbox one by connecting hdmi to back of xbox one from my dish box but when I want to switch imputs on tv back to dish tv my cable box only has one hdmi input so I have to switch the hdmi around to watch tv again I bought a 2 female and one
    male hdmi splitter so one hdmi is going from cable box to xbox and one hdmi going from cable box to my tv put it wont work if I have to hdmis plugged into the splitter is there another way I can watch tv both on xbox and different imput on tv with having
    only one hdmi port on cable box

    Hi, I tried watching tv through my xbox one, but to no avail. I dont have cable or satellite. Can I still watch tv through my xbox one? Also how do you view recent players on the xbox one? Thank you.

    I still can't get over how much they push the fact you can watch TV on your Xbox.

    I'm not sure if I'm understanding your set up from your explanation. Is it possible to take a picture and post a link to it on the forums here?

    In the meantime are you aware that you can plug your dish box into your Xbox One via HDMI cable and then the Xbox One directly to the TV and use the OneGuide to watch TV through the Xbox?

    What Do You Have Connected to the "TV" App on Your XBOX ONE.

    I have my TV obviously...how else can I game WHILE watching NFL all day... ;)

    As for having the xbox on all the time, I ran another set of Components from my cable box to other TV input since Samsung does accept 1080p through components so I can choose to have my xbox on to watch tv or not.

    We've lost your TV lineup Issue

    Check if the tv is not defective or try to change the cable... if it doesn´t work, test another TV to make sure the problem isn´t with the xbox itself.
    Issue is with software. Have this issue on Xbox One X with Hauppauge tuner and two Xbox One S with their own Hauppauge tuners. All separate and complete setups. Not TV or cable related since they all stopped working the evening of May 5th.

    Yeah I got the same message to try another TV, When I turned on the Xbox this morning I got the splash screen to set up my TV to watch tv which was strange!!!! How can it be the TV when everything else works on the TV and I have the Antenna coax connected
    to my TV and watching OTA. It's on Microsoft's end!! I bet they are not supporting OTA through the Xbox anymore due to the Series X is not going to have HDMI in and no OTA support. Probably just weening us off of watching TV through our Xbox which I am
    more than disappointed with!!!

    Connecting a dish hopper

    He doesn't need an xbox to watch TV. You can run one HDMI from the hopper to the TV and run an HDMI from xbox to another slot on the TV. Unless it is an old tv and just has one HDMI input. In that case yes you can run it thru the Xbox but the xbox has
    to be on while you are watching tv and half the times you will need to do a full reboot on the xbox before you can watch TV. There are lots of issues with running your tv signal thru the xbox.
