    How can I use Xbox 360 on MY PC Monitor? (Please Read ALL)


    So my monitor is an ACER LCD S200 HL, which has a DVI and a VGA port. At least that's what it says here : http://www.amazon.com/Acer-20IN-1600X900-S200HL-Panel/dp/B005NJQ7CI

    The only reasons I'm confused on this are the following

    1.) Whenever I look at VGA adapters it has the composite cables attached to it and I don't have those sockets on my monitor, do I need them?

    2.) Above the 'VGA' spot that I have my PC connected to, it doesn't say VGA, it says D-Sub. There is no spot anywhere on my monitor that says VGA, are these the same things?

    HELP PLEASE READ!!

    Ok I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to my pc monitor but the monitor does not have av ( red and white) in back so I get no sound is there a way to get sound please help

    1) The composite cables are likely red and white - for audio to an external amplifier/sound system.

    2) D-Sub is the same thing as VGA.

    Also to add to this is MS stopped making official VGA cables a while back so you will probably have to go with a third party cable. I would suggest

    Monoprice.com    . <- Link to the VGA cable for the 360. The price is really reasonable and don't have to go with some who knows Ebay source. Plus right below the product is adapters you will probably need like an RCA to 3.5mm adapter.

    If your xbox has hdmi the get a dvi to hdmi cable or dvi to hdmi converter.

    There are HDMI to DVI cables. There are digital audio to analog audio adapters. There are also VGA cables for 360s that have an AV port (the 360 E does
    not).

    [/quote]I don't recommend that at all. Unless you want 3D, and even then, you'll want 120Hz not 144Hz. Any monitor that is good for PC gaming and Xbox 360 gaming is good for Xbox One gaming. Read my post above for me details. I linked a decent monitor as well
