how can I use my gamer tag instead on this forum?

Account won't use gametag

The account setup refuses to use my game tag Jayadub, instead saddling me with Jayadub-anahe349930277291k@)@)@# or something equally as stupid as when I ask to use my game tag the page times out or crashes back to Edge. When I log in to Profile it won't
allow me to change my name to Jayadub because...….wait for it...….It is taken..... Instead I changed it to something more useful. What is the issue here and how do I get back to the original page to continue trying to use my game tag?

 

The Gamer-tag displayed on my Microsoft account is not the right one

I made my microsoft account 5 years ago and the gamer-tag i use and the one that is on my xbox is Andersonlp3. When i sign into this site though instead of my normal gamer-tag Andersonlp3 showing up it's this gamer-tag which isn't right and has
none of my acheviements or my Gold membership. Can anyone help me figure out what to do, i tried changing my gamer-tag from my xbox to another microsoft account but error code comes up.

If you click on your name at the top left, My profile and then edit profile, you should be able to change it from there.

If you need to leave your gamertag instead of a made up name all you have to do is sign into the site at the top right corner. That should log you into your profile and allow you to leave your tag for communication.

 

When i logged in today, i suddenly got a new screen with choice for this before entering this forum.

I could select custom nick, or using my Gamer profile.

How to do it manually, is already said by others here.
