    How can I unlink my EA account from Xbox?


    Hi,

    I have an Xbox Game Pass. There are a few EA games included in the subscription but I can't play any of them and as it stands I will never be able to play them. This obviously makes the Game Pass less appealing.

    The problem is that my Xbox Gamertag has been linked to an old / unknown EA account and EA will not unlink it. They say the account it's linked to is "deleted" and want to verify my details. Since I don't know what account it's been linked to, I can't verify the deleted account. Furthermore it's obviously not actually "deleted" if they're looking at the data in it. I have even made a GDPR request for all the data they hold on me but they're basically ignoring the request.

    While that link exists, I can't connect my Xbox / Microsoft Gaming account with EA. I've been talking to different customer service reps at EA for the past 5 hours and I'm not getting anywhere with them. Is there any way that Microsoft can unlink my account from EA so that I may link it with my real account?

    The account connection is created on EA's side, therefore it can only be unlinked from EA's side.

    When signing in to the EA website, choose to login with your Xbox profile. This should allow you to access the linked EA account.

    Also, keep in mind that If you unlink your XBOX account from EA, you won't be able to link it to another one.

    "You can unlink your platform accounts from your EA Account if you want to link them to a different EA Account, as long as that EA Account has never had the same account type linked to it before in its lifetime.

    That means if you unlink an Xbox gamertag from your EA Account, you can’t link a different Xbox gamertag to it in the future."
