How can I turn the Elite controller off when it's not being used on Windows 10?

I just got this Elite wireless controller a few days ago and connected it wirelessly to my Windows 10 PC. The light seems to stay on 24/7, and it seems to me that it is going to be a little battery-hungry. Does it eventually go to sleep? Is there a way to
shut it off without removing the batteries?

Xbox one s controller

I have the dawn shadow controller iv had it since about Christmas it keeps disconnecting after like two feet it's being used on the elite xbox one and once you walk like 2 feet it turns off yet other controllers work fine iv put freshly charged packs in
it iv updated it iv done everything I can think of

CONFIGURE ELITE CONTROLLER

Configuration for the Elite Controller can only be done on windows 10. It's not compatible with windows 8.1.
