If I may ask, is the email you want to change it to a Microsoft email domain like @Outlook.com, @Live.com, @hotmail.com, etc., or is it a third-party email domain like @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc.?

If it's an existing Microsoft email domain, unfortunately, we cannot use it so I would highly recommend using a third-party email domain that is not associated with any Xbox accounts.

An Xbox account cannot be separated from the Microsoft account that it is tied to. They are forever tied together. While you can add an alias which would provide an alternative means to sign in, it will still be connected to the original email unless that one is deleted. It would have to be completely deleted and you would lose everything associated with that email. If you wish to separate the accounts, one of you will have to start over with a new account.

Of course I remember the email, problem is, the person who hacked it transferred the Minecraft account to their email, then deleted MY outlook account.

in this situation the choice is for your son to completely start over or to continue using your account.

changing the email login to the Xbox account is not possible if the original email is a Microsoft email address (hotmail, outlook, live, etc0 as removing a Microsoft email address permanently deletes the email account.

if your son starts over on a new account you can give him access to the games purchased on your account by making it the Home Xbox for your account. this will share the games and subscriptions to other accounts on the Xbox.

I've two Xbox live accounts. One is pretty old and I use it always on my xbox and it's connected to a email address which is not from microsoft (gmx). The second is connected to my outlook/live-ID and is never in use (I'm writing this massage from it) (outlook).

I'd like to transfer my gmx account to my outlook account since it's always in use and I want it on my Windows Phone and Surface.

I already tried to transfer it via my xbox but since there is another account xbox account on my outlook account I can't transfer it.

My problem is, that I don't want to delete my outlook account since there are all my mails and contacts on it. Is there any other way to get rid of the XBLA on my outlook ID that I can transfer my gmx XBLA to it?
