How can I switch the email associated to my Xbox account with an existing email

Ive been playing with the same Xbox account since I was like 8, it’s associated to my fathers MSN email. Now that I’m an adult I want to put my MSN email into the account and remove his email. How do I do that? Everything I see online involves deleting one of the emails. Both MSN accounts are active. He still uses his email for work, and I use my MSN as my personal email.

I also have an Xbox account that’s active with my personal email, although I do not care if that Xbox account got deleted, but I need the email/msn account still.

So I need to unlink both emails from an Xbox account and add my email to the main Xbox account. The other xbox account can be deleted but i need the emails to still be working.

Unfortunately that’s not possible, is not possible to add an existing Microsoft email address associated with a Microsoft account

529Black- Switching to an email that no longer exists is not a viable option.

Onyx62- No, the console message only told me what I had won and to check the email associated with my account.

Sorry to hear it. If the email address does not exist and you forgot the password you may be out of luck. The best I can offer is to try changing the email associated with the account.

Hey, do you know if you have associated both of those gamertags with the one email? If so you might want to switch the email associated to whatever account you can still sign into the xbox with.

As far as I'm aware, email addresses and Microsoft accounts are different. I don't want to change the email of the Xbox account, but rather the Microsoft account that's associated with it itself. I can't add an existing Microsoft account as an alias so is there
any other way? Years ago all I needed to do was switch out the email but it simply isn't the case anymore.
