How can I stop a different controller from controlling my profile?

Hello there.

looks like you have to unassign your profile from the controller.

make sure you are doing this from the controller you are removing the profile from.

go to setting

click on devices

there will be a "assigned to" button

click that

see if anyone is assigned if not go to next button that says "this controller signs in" and remove the profile

Hello you need to sign out of your account with that controller. Also make sure that controller is not connected to your account when signing in. If you go to controller setting this can be managed there.

This has never happened to me before and I am very confused. It was weird how one controller stopped working with my mic, and when I swapped over to my second controller, it too stopped working with my mic two weeks after the first controller. With trying out my controllers on another xbox, it leads me to believe that it is not specifically a xbox console problem and has something to do with my controllers.

I tried those links before and all the steps, it still won't connect. I don't own any other controllers.

I tried connecting the xbox controller to my phone and it found and connected immediately, so the controller works fine.

Do you know how I can stop my laptop from automatically pairing with the xbox gamepad as soon as it turns on or as soon as I turn bluetooth on? I think if I can stop it from auto-connecting, I might then be able to search for the controller manually.

How recently did the headset stop working with the controller? To start, can you use the steps in the
controller update guide to verify that the controller itself is fully updated?

Also, if you test that headset with a different Xbox One controller, do you see any difference?
