In the top right corner of my Xbox it shows an old email I don't want on there and yes I changed the billing and Microsoft email but I can seem to get rid of that old one appearing but when I sign in to my Microsoft account it's still the old email so that

No, it's like, the old account got completely replaced by this one, it's the right info, when i sign in outlook i see all the old confirmation codes and stuff that i received for that account, but when i sign in that account on xbox, it's a whole new account.

I am thinking that it is more an account problem than the game since the old email account I had, I do not have access to it anymore and it tells me that that account doesn't exist when trying to log in, note that I changed the name of that email and I have recovered it but I put the changed name to the new primary domain and deleted the old one, that's when I stopped receiving emails so I close that account. however, I don't know what i did when i tried to sign into halo that i get that error and said that the old account doesn't exist, tried to create a new one with the same name as the old accounts but it tells me that its in use. So I don't know what to do. Is there a way that Microsoft can delete those old emails from their servers?

Yuhao Li - MSFT posted a solution to a user who had a similar issue:

You can add an additional email to sign in or verify your account. You don't need to remove old security info unless there is an account security risk (e.g. someone else has access to your old mailbox).

Sign in to your Advanced security options page using your Microsoft Account.

Select Add a new way to sign in or verify then choose how you would like to receive security codes. To add an alternative email, select Email a code.

Tip: The email or phone number does not have to be yours - you just need to have access to it if you want to use it to verify your account.

We'll send a security code to confirm. Enter that code when prompted and then select Next.

If you decide to remove the old email address after you complete adding the new email:

On the Security basics page, select the Update info button. If you're not already signed in to your Microsoft account, you'll be prompted to sign in.

You may be asked to enter a verification code to continue. If you don't have access to your alternate email or phone number, choose I don't have any of these and follow the instructions to replace your security info.

You'll see your security info under Security settings. Choose Remove for any you want to remove. You may be asked to add new security info before you can remove the old info.

Important:

If you do need to replace your security info, make sure you add new info first.

If you request removal of all security info in your account, the info doesn’t actually change for 30 days. During this time, we cannot accept further changes or additions to security settings or billing info. Your account is still open and active, and you can still use your email, Skype, OneDrive and devices as usual. We’ll let you know when it's time to enter new security info. Learn more.
