How can I set up screen time likits but not lose my sons skins?

My wife and I want to limit screen time - with parental controls- for our son but his username is tied to my wifes account. It wont let us set parental controls because her account is for an adult instead of a child. How can we keep his games and things
he earned while setting this up? Suggestions?

When I set up the Xbox one account, it is under my email. Due to this, I cannot set up parental controls. How do I switch the account to my son so he can still keep progress on games. I want him to have his own account with parental controls but not lose

How to change and adult account to a child account

So I'd like to set screen time for my son's account, however it was originally set up as the adult account. All of his game progress is saved there so I don't want to simply create a new child account for him to use. I want to change his adult account to
a child account so he won't lose any of his progress but I can still set screen time. Unfortunately, you can't set screen time for an adult account. Cannot find anything about how or if you can do this.

I am NOT asking how to change the permissions or privacy on an account.

 

You can set up a child account for your kid and gameshare through the xbox home feature among accounts:

Unfortunately, "things earned" like Gamerscore and game achievements are tied to the account that unlocked them.

Purchased games on your wife's account can be shared to the console your kid plays on.

However, as you correctly pointed out, since the kid is playing with your wife's adult account, it can't be restricted.

If you need the screen time limit to be enforced, there is currently no way around making a new account and have the kid unlock the things he earned again.

However, since the wife's account can set the console your son plays on as her "Home Console", you don't have to buy the games again.
