In Windows, you can format disks with the default “Disk Management” application. Type the name when you open the Start menu to find it.

This will delete all data on the drive. Be careful when selecting your hard drive, as you don’t want to accidentally delete another disk.

    Xbox series S storage problems

No as it's upto your hdd manufacturer warranty.not xbox

    Also hdds do die

    Did you reformat it?

    Or.switch the cable.?

Yes after 5 years hdds can lose intrigitry it's all about how you care about it

With consoles they are more frequent reading and writing

Also.are more sensitive to hdd errors

So if you have bad sectors oe your cable get flayed it will notice a lot more then a computer

If bad sectors you need to format to rewrite the Mbt table to avoid them

How can I format my hdd?

No need to format the drive. If it is USB 3.0 compatible then just plug it in and the console should automatically recognize it

How do you store game recordings from Xbox on an External Device?

    Hi,

What 'USB 3.0' drive is it? A mechanical HDD or a USB flash drive? What's the manufacturer? How much space does it claim to have?

Did you format it in Windows? Many more well known manufacturers have their own software to format drives, especially if the drive is the HDD variety.
